Republican Education Centre reach out to remote areas using modern equipment communication

TASHKENT, 23 May 2016 — An Online seminar for education professionals took place at the Republican Centre of Education today to discuss ways to improve efficiency of methodological services through innovative forms of communication.

The seminar was conducted using modern multimedia equipment provided by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). It is a part of joint programme on improving the quality of education of UNICEF and the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan. Now, regular video seminars will guide and support teachers in the regions in their work.

The event was chaired by Mr. Bakhtiyor Daniyarov, First Deputy Minister of Public Education. He underlined the importance of this new initiative for all educational institutions of Uzbekistan. The First Deputy Minister appreciated the potential of this intervention in strengthening the efficiency and effectiveness of teachers’ capacity. Representatives of regional departments of the Ministry of Public Education, management of the Republican Education Centre and its methodologists also attended the seminar.

«We hope that the multimedia video-conferencing equipment will serve more teachers and methodologists in a more accessible mode to receive the necessary and quick support and additional coaching in the area of improving the quality of education," said Afshin Parsi, Chief of Education of UNICEF Uzbekistan Country Office. «UNICEF will be ready to provide further support to develop relevant methodological materials to facilitate the process of knowledge sharing through distance workshops and conferences," he added.

Education methodologists will use multimedia video-conferencing equipment to provide frequent and continuous coaching to teachers in all regions of Uzbekistan. It will be instrumental for knowledge sharing and experience exchange with prominent international institutions.
